Chris has been a developer and investor in wind and solar energy since 2002. In his current role at Google Treasury, he manages a $1+ billion portfolio of renewable energy and affordable housing investments and serves on the boards of two project companies. Prior to Google, Chris was co-founder and Chief Development Officer for Element Power US, a global developer and operator of wind and solar energy projects. Prior to Element Power, he led development for the Western region for EDP Renewables. Chris has developed and/or closed sales of 2+ GW of wind and solar projects.
Chris currently serves on the advisory board of the Green Energy Institute at Lewis & Clark Law School and previously served as a board member of the Association of Washington Business, Renewable Northwest and the Oregon Wave Energy Trust as well as the Wind Solar Alliance and AWEA’s Wind PAC. He graduated from Amherst College and received his Master’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He lives in Portland, Oregon.

Mr. Giam is a dynamic, resourceful, result‐oriented, and multi‐lingual management consulting executive with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Giam has successfully completed various due diligence engagements (technical, environmental, market analysis) related to development, transaction and refinancing of various energy and water projects/companies globally (United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, and Europe), including over 90 gigawatts (GW) of domestic and international electric generation assets (solar, wind, natural gas, hydroelectric, etc.), over 60,000 circuit miles of transmission and distribution assets operating at various voltages (up to 500 kilovolts [kV] voltage level), and over 100 million gallons per day (mgd) of greenfield desalination projects.
Mr. Giam has successfully advised many internationally well‐ established companieson various merger and acquisition (M&A) and financing activities involving well over U.S. $100 billion of transaction value in aggregate.
In addition, Mr. Giam has over eight years of experience involving in the design, development, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning phases of transmission and distribution projects ranging up to 345 kV voltage level.

Chris Vlahoplus serves as internal advisor and liaison for key client relationships and work. He also provides mentorship across the firm and closely supports ScottMadden’s analytics capability.
Prior to this role, Chris had been a management consultant to the energy and utility industry for 28 years, serving 20 years as a partner. He led ScottMadden’s clean tech & sustainability practice area for six years, including a role as co-leader of the firm's nuclear consulting practice. During his tenure, Chris assisted more than 40 companies focusing on electric generation business management, merger integration, strategic and business planning, organizational restructuring, and management models. Prior to joining ScottMadden, Chris worked in nuclear safety at Duke Power Company. engineering from the University of South Carolina, an M.S. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining ScottMadden, Chris worked in nuclear safety at Duke Power Company.

Gil Jenkins is director of corporate communications for Hannon Armstrong.
Previously, he served as Vice President of Communications for the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), a national non-profit organization that unites finance, policy, and technology to accelerate the transition to a renewable energy economy, He also led Ogilvy’s clean energy & sustainability communications practice. His clients have included Ford, Cree Inc., DuPont, Johnson & Johnson, SunPower, View Inc., Land Trust Alliance, USDA and many others. Among his client successes were helping a Fortune 10 company launch a concept electric vehicle powered by solar; leading international media strategy for the host country of a UN Climate Change Conference; and managing integrated communications for a pioneering expedition to research and reveal the effects of climate change on the coral reefs of the world.
Before Ogilvy, Gil worked at Weber Shandwick where he managed media relations and grassroots outreach for a range of automotive and clean energy clients. He has also held PR agency roles at Ketchum and SHIFT Communications and started his career as a public relations specialist at Raytheon. Gil has served as an adviser for the MIT Clean Energy Prize and graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a major in communication and a minor in political science.
